MBM is a product of rendering industry. Rendering (cooking) process produces a nutritional and economical feed ingredient. Meat and bone meal is an excellent source of protein. High quality meal is usually guaranteed to contain a minimum of 50% protein content. MBM is primarily used in animal feed formulation to improve the amino acid profile of the feed.
MBM is a source of protein and phosphorus in animal feed obtained from the rendering of leftover meat and bones. Rendering is a cooking process at a temperature above 135oC before then the leftover is forged and ground into flour. High quality MBM should have 50% protein content and smells fresh.
